Acquisition program representative for U.S., for Nissho Iwai American Corp. (now Sojitz Corp.)

 

StoneCreek Partners was retained by Nissho Iwai American Corp. (NIAC, now Sojitz) as owner’s representative for their North American acquisitions program. The retainer relationship included solicitation and screening of investment proposals, initial investment suitability and feasibility evaluations for NIAC, and in select instances, preliminary deal structuring and due diligence support for prospective acquisitions.

 

Two select examples of additional detailed due diligence support were Calhoun Beach Club and Condominiums situated along the shoreline of Lake Calhoun in downtown Minneapolis, Minnesota, and, Newport-Banning Ranch located in Newport Beach, California. Sojitz was formed in 2004 by the merger of NIAC and Nichimen Corporation.

 

Universal CityWalk Osaka

Guest experience programming, leasing plan, and tenant alternatives for CityWalk Osaka Phase II at Universal Studios Japan, prepared for Sumitomo Corp.

 

Strategic leasing, tenant mix, experiential programming, and Phase II vertical design for this branded and themed retail-entertainment facility situated along the walkway from the rail station and Universal Studios Japan. Work directed by AEC’s Donald Bredberg as an executive with Universal Studios Recreation Group, and later as consulting advisors to owner Sumitomo Bank.

 

Leisure Channel Japan

Review and recommendations for increasing the venue spectator experience, and televised viewer experience, for Kyōtei racing in Japan. Hydroplane boat racing is one of a few varieties of public wagering allowed under Japan’s gambling laws. The sport features professional drivers guiding speeding boats around a set course. Races take place at established venues located throughout the country. To boost attendance, many of Japan’s 24 Boat Race venues offer services including information corners, general and reserved seating for races, restaurants, and shops, as well as facilities for children and game arcades.
